Testimonies
The following gives brief comments on the real life experience of a number of
PrimeTimers who have taken up a second career in missions. To
protect their identities, we have used fictitious names.
*Mark and Leanne undertook Bible School Training then a Language and Culture Course.
Since then they have been in Uganda and Kenya. *Amanda
undertook training in Primary Health, and has worked in Philippines, Iraq, and
now Indonesia. *Mike and
Sandra have worked in Mongolia, with Mike working with Government organizations
in wool and cashmere, while Sandra worked as a teacher. *Rose
has worked for three years as a teacher in a school in North India. *Paul and
Elizabeth went to Pakistan to help train nationals in ministry to children. Now
Paul works with a Mission Agency in Melbourne. *Rod
and Melanie left a successful medical practice and now are serving in the Red
Sea area, Rod as a doctor and Melanie as manager/hostess for a guest house. *Ross
and June moved out to do Crossroads Discipleship Training, then, after a brief
time in Brazil/Chile they worked in China and then Hong Kong caring for unmarried
pregnant Chinese girls. June looked after the meals and Ross was property manager/handy
man. *Ellie as a nurse
and mid-wife went to China and has mainly cared for abandoned babies. *Roy
and Marie retired and went to Nepal where Roy has been Administrator of several
hospitals and Marie has run the hospital guest house and ministered to the women.
*Steve and Nikki retired
and became associated with Mobile Missionary Maintenance and have travelled to
many outback areas in Australia, Steve keeping his plumbing skills and Nikki has
been cook. *Ralph and
Anne retired as teachers then went to Indonesia where Ralph taught a large number
of missionary kids and Anne was librarian.
*Esther went out in a church planting team to Budapest, ministering in orphanages
and at old people homes. *Ken
and Linda left Hobart to go to Murree Christian School in Northern Pakistan where
Linda teaches music and Ken is Director, teaching the children of missionary families
in the area. Miracles of protection and provision have continued to assure them
of being in His care. |
